A model independent calculation is given for the nucleon isovector electric
charge radius which is valid in the limit $N_c \rightarrow \infty$, $m_\pi
\rightarrow 0$, $N_c m_\pi$ fixed. This expression reduces to that of the
Skyrme model in the limit $N_c m_{\pi} \rightarrow \infty$.
