We study the statistical significance of a correlation between the 37Ar counts in the Davis experiment (YAr) and the sunspot number NSS in the form YAr=A cos2(f√NSS) where A and f are kept as free parameters. We discuss the significance of this expression in terms of the neutrino magnetic moment μv and of the magnetic field in the convective zone. We find that a fit performed by using this expression is slightly better than the fit to a constant. We conclude that the data do not imply an evidence of a non-zero value of μv. However, they are consistent μv≠0 and a fair indication of a correlation exists. A value of the neutrino magnetic moment μv~10-10μB and a fair indication of a correlation exists.
