Polarization measurements on high frequency radio waves (2-8 Mc/s) reflected from blanketing and semi-transparent types of Es show that the blanketing type of Es reflects both the magnetoionic components, while the semi-transparent type reflects in general more of the extraordinary than the ordinary component, the X-magnetoionic component alone being reflected on a good number of occasions.
