The electric field of a body located in the plasma of the solar wind and exposed to the electromagnetic radiation of the Sun is studied. It is shown that the body acquires a positive charge, and an estimate of the rate of the charging process is given. By means of a model distribution function for the photoelectrons, the system of one-dimensional Vlasov-Poisson equations is numerically solved, and this allows the dependence of the potential and charge density on coordinates to be determined.
