The position of R Coronae Borealis (R CrB) type variables on the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram is discussed. The possible relationship between the luminosity of the star and the maximum depth of the R CrB type minimum is considered. This relationship was used to determine the absolute magnitudes of several RCrB stars: U Aqr (+2.5 m), V CrA (-5.0 m), R CrB(-5.0 m), and RT Nor (+0.6 m).
