Questions related to the existence of a wave-invariant are explored and hydromagnetic-gravity waves in a rotating Boussinesq fluid are considered, taking into account aspects of formulation, the wave normal surfaces, critical levels, and reflection by and transmission through a finite shear. Magneto-acoustic-gravity waves are discussed and a description is given of hydromagnetic-gravity waves in a sheared magnetic field.
