Attention is given to the modification of a spectrographic global imaging method which was used in conjunction with observational data from 39 neutron monitors of the world cosmic ray station network to investigate the time variations of the planetary system of geomagnetic cutoff rigidities during the period of an intense geomagnetic storm in late October-early November 1972. The method proposed allows the world cosmic ray station network to be employed more effectively.
