Radiative transfer in absorbing, emitting, linearly anisotropically scattering spherical media is analyzed. To obtain a solution to the quantities of physical interest, power-series expansions are employed. A linear system of coupled algebraic equations for the unknown expansion coefficients is generated by the application of Galerkin's method, and the resulting system is then readily solved by standard methods. Examination of the convergence of the solution, as represented by the results of the emissivity, indicates that highly accurate solutions are obtainable.
