Plans for the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope (HST) program is reviewed. The development of the HST spacecraft design is reviewed and the HST payload is described and illustrated. The scientific results expected from the program are examined, emphasizing the possibility of determining Hubble's constant. It addition, consideration is given to the techniques planned for the operation of the automated observatory.
