Using methods of mathematical statistics, in particular the Bras criterion, algorithms were obtained for the following inverse problem solutions for a layered earth: interpretation of phase, amplitude or amplitude-phase curves for both a flat and a spherical earth; joint interpretation of several curves obtained from a limited region for the determination of mantle conductivity parameters. Solution of the inverse problems resulted in evaluation of both the number of layers and the cross-section electric parameters, as well as their error matrix, and the model efficiency. There are algorithms for the resolution of experimental data and for choosing the optimum frequency increment on the sounding curve.
