Using the O I lambda 615.8 nm line we have derived the oxygen abundances for two stars of the large magellanic cloud (LMC). Available oxygen abundances in the literature are given for another nine stars. These data points are compared to predictions of epsilon(O) vs. epsilon(Fe), based on planetary nebulae data, showing good agreement. These results seem to point to a relative higher contribution of SN Ia in the yields than that observed in the Galaxy.
