We present optical spectroscopy of the suspected cataclysmic variable PZ
Nor. The object is found to be a red giant probably of type M5III. It
shows faint and narrow Balmer emission lines. We hence refute the CV
classification and conclude that PZ Nor is probably a Mira-type
variable.
