Homogeneous and isotropic solutions for a theoretical gravitational field with scalar values are studied, in order to arrive at a renormalizable quantum theory of gravity. Qualitative characteristics of the solutions are analyzed and important differences with Einstein theory are pointed out. It is found that the theory formulated contains a larger number of solutions than is found in Einstein theory, due to the presence of an extra field, the scalar phi.
