Research at the Nuclear Physics Institute of Moscow State University concerning the generation of cosmic rays in interplanetary space is described. The mechanism for the acceleration of particles to superhigh energies in connection with plasma flare processes is considered, noting that such processes are characterized by the transfer of a large amount of energy to a small number of particles.
