Scientific paper

The one-loop effective potential is calculated for a background
higher-dimensional spacetime having the structure of the
Robertson-Walker universe with a supersymmetric extra sphere. We show
that, in the early stage of the universe, this effect makes the extra
space unstable except that supersymmetry is broken dynamically.
