The viscosity of supercooled diopside melt has been measured in the range 1013-108 dPas with a micro-penetration viscometer. Fits of the Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann (VFT) equation and of the configurational entropy viscosity model to the present data and experimental high-temperature viscosity data taken from the literature showed that the latter approach represents the viscosity-temperature relationship of liquid diopside with an average error of +/-0.10 log viscosity units and thus by 23% better than the VFT equation.
