The Noyes et al. (1985) EUV line intensity observations in sunspot plumes are presently used to determine electron densities from theoretical curves of the Mg VI and Mg VIII density-sensitive line ratios. It is found that, in general, the curves for Mg VI are clearly good candidates for diagnosing events whose apparent density lies above 10 to the 10th/cu cm. The curves for Mg VI show a large variation in density according to the density-sensitive ratio used as a diagnostic.
