We propose a new shell model method, combining the Lanczos
diagonalization and extrapolation method. Linear and quasi-linear
extrapolations can give an accurate shell model energy from a series of
shell model calculations with various truncation spaces. Its feasibility
is demonstrated by taking large-scale fp shell calculations.
