During the mission periods of AEROS A and B the solar EUV indices changed with solar rotation and solar activity. These EUV fluxes are used to compute the corresponding changes in the primary ion and electron production rates to compare with the changes of the electron densities and temperatures as measured aboard AEROS. The observed fluctuations in the electron densities and temperatures exceed the computed changes that are caused by the variability of the solar EUV flux up to about one order of magnitude.
