Five-minute data from Alma-Ata and Lomnitski Shtit neutron monitors were used to search for cosmic-ray variations corresponding in time with the most intense phenomena in solar flares. A statistical analysis shows that the distribution of count-rate variations of high-altitude neutron monitors during a gamma-flare differs significantly from the distribution of variations in the preceding and subsequent periods. Observed count-rate increases are found to be due to solar-flare neutrons with energies greater than 300 MeV.
