We have developed a new RV-measurements method allowing to detect very low mass companions around early type stars, and we are performing a survey on a volume-limited sample of more than 200 A-F main sequence stars. This extends the planet and BD formation processes study around stars earlier than F7. We provide some mass detection limits on A-F stars achieved with our new RV-measurements method, the detection of a planet orbiting a F6V star with ELODIE and another one with HARPS, as well as first statistical considerations. We also develop simulations of stellar activity (spots) to estimate more quantitatively than what has been done so far the impact of such phenomenon.
