COWAN1 has applied the method of power spectrum analysis to the distribution of redshiffts of quasi-stellar objects and has found several peaks in the power spectrum which, if real, would correspond to periodicities in the distribution of QSO redshifts. This letter points out that the distribution of power levels in his Fig. 1 is not significantly different from what would be expected from the analysis of purely random noise.
