We propose to observe Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) Cepheids using the CTIO 0.9m Telescope in Sloan ugriz filters. Our target Cepheids are previously well-known LMC Cepheids with periods ranging from 3 to 100 days. Most of them are located in uncrowded regions of the LMC. The purpose for these observations is to check and validate the zero- points (ZP) of the Cepheid period-luminosity (PL) relation in the Sloan filters derived from a semi-empirical approach. Errors on these semi- empirical ZPs could be as much as 0.5mag. The best way to calibrate these ZPs is empirically. This is important for future distance scale work that will employ the Sloan filters.
