Unidentified weak features in the auroral spectra of Sivjee (1983) are identified as the 0-4 (3463.3-A) and 0-5 (3661.1-A) bands of the N2(c'4 - a) Gaydon-Herman system. Sample spectra (at 2.5-A resolution) are shown, and the identification criteria are indicated. A table of wavelengths and estimated Frank-Condon factors for different bands of the system is provided, and it is calculated that the system has an intensity about 7 percent that of the N2(2P) system. The fact that the spectra exhibit neither the theoretically more intense N2(c'4 - X) bands nor certain O2 bands is explored.
