Scientific paper
This paper reviews the relationship between the size and spin distributions of asteroids. There seems to be a division at a diameter of 260 km. Larger asteroids come from the original population, have a median spin period of 7.3 hours and mass distribution index of 1.58. Smaller asteroids are the collision-generated fragments of previous asteroids. They have a median spin period of 10.2 hours and have a mass distribution index of 2.02.
