The solar spectral telescope at Yunnan Observatory is a symmetrically optical system without polarization. The spatial resolution of the telescope is 1″ spatial resolution of the spectrometer is 1″- 2″ and tracking precision is 1″in 5 minutes. Its optical parameters satisfy the requirements of installing Stokes polarizing analyzer. The instrument can be used to research line profiles of vector magnetic fields during activity cycle 23.
