Latitudinal variations of the ion structure of the ionosphere are examined on the basis of data on the upper atmosphere, the flux and spectrum of short-wave solar radiation, and ion-molecular reactions in the ionization-recombination equilibrium region in the ionosphere. It is shown that this structure possesses a number of invariants which establish specific relationships between the concentration of the neutral and ionized components, and make it possible to construct concentration profiles of ions and electrons for different heliogeophysical conditions.
