Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) are believed to be thermonuclear explosions of white dwarfs (WDs). However, the nature of their progenitors has still remained an unsolved problem. We carried out detailed binary evolution calculation for the most-favoured channel, i.e. the single-degenerate channel, where a carbon/ oxygen (CO) WD accretes matter from an unevolved or slightly evolved non-degenerate star until the WD reaches the Chandrasekhar mass limit. We have implemented the results in a binary population synthesis (BPS) study to obtain the properties of remnants (i.e. the remnants of mass donors in the WD binary system), which could be helpful in finding the remnants observationally.
