In previous papers we have established and developed the so-called scalar-tetradic theory A. Here, we have used both: (1) A satisfactory vacuum solution of the field equations and (2) an equation of state for cold matter in a large range of densities. Thus, the stellar structure equations of the theory A have been derived and the following main conclusion has been obtained: The maximum mass of a neutron star can be as large as 50% of the general relativistic value.
