Some astrophysical implications of the anticorrelation between the Ba abundance and metallicity of Ba II stars, on the one hand, and the age of these stars, on the other, are considered. Observed Ba abundance variation among the Ba II stars are discussed, and the possible stellar mass range is restricted to the interval from 1.25 to about 1.5 solar masses. The Ba abundance variations are interpreted in terms of age, mass, and metallicity effects.
