The Thomas-Fermi model in a high-density regime is used for analytic evaluation of the enhancement factor of the thermonuclear reaction rate due to plasma screening in a weakly nonideal degenerate electron gas and strongly coupled two-component ion liquid with large ion charge. The density and temperature domain is found in which the screening effect produced by the electron gas compressibility is important. It is pointed out that the latter effect may be influenced by strong magnetic fields. The results may be applied to degenerate cores of white dwarfs and envelopes of neutron stars.
