The Liquid Crystal based Stokes Polarimeter (LCSP) is a low voltage complete Stokes polarimeter which is developed for high resolution spectro-polarimetry. The polarimeter consists of two liquid crystal variable retarders in front of a polarizing beam splitter. It was installed and tested in combination with the new image scanner (Stolpe et al., 1997) at the Gregory Coudé Telescope (GCT) at the Observatorio del Teide(Izana, Tenerife). We give some information on the basic design, a method of in situ compensation of cross-talk and some first observations.
