The Cassini/Huygens mission of NASA and ESA combines a Saturn Orbiter and a Titan Probe to perform a detailed investigation of the Saturnian system following earlier flyby missions. A brief history of the project is given and present plans leading to an encounter in 2004 are described. The United Kingdom is participating extensively in the instruments carried on the spacecraft.
