Results of the magnetic field measurements made from the Phobos-2 spacecraft are presented for the two different orbital regimes: a Mars-approaching highly elliptical orbit and a circular orbit at the height of Phobos. Data obtained from the elliptical orbits yielded information on the interaction regions of solar wind with the ionospheric and exospheric plasma at dayside, evening flank, and in the tail, while data from circular orbits gave information about tail-related features. The existence of different plasma boundaries, such as the bow shock, the planetopause, and the eclipse boundary, is demonstrated, and indications were found for a weak corotating planetary magnetic field.
