The design and principles of operation of a laboratory photometer for monitoring the radiation of star simulators are described. A 150-mm focal length objective is used to form an image of the simulated star in the focal plane, which contains a turret with interchangeable field of view diaphragms. A rotatable mirror with a two-sided coating and an eyepiece with a crosshair reticle permit monitoring the location of the star image within the plane of the field diaphragm. A photomultiplier is used as the radiation detector of the photometer. The light characteristic of the photometer is linear at photocurrents within the interval corresponding to stellar magnitudes from 0 to +5. Data on photometer effectiveness are reported.
