The proper motion survey on plates taken with the 48-inch Schmidt
telescope at Mount Palomar Observatory has now progressed to the point
where some 250,000 new motions for faint stars have been measured, and
5,000 new white dwarfs and degenerate stars and 3,000 stars of low
luminosity have been added.
