The use of large space telescopes and modern digital scanners for narrow
band photometric investigations, abundance analyses of giants in
Magellanic Clouds, and for 10 to 30 A resolution scans covering a wide
range of wavelengths in the inner core of the elliptical galaxies, is
reported.
