The problem of calculating the parameters of Stokes radiation which is reflected and transmitted by anisotropic plane-parallel atmospheres is considered. The atmospheres are assumed to contain scattering particles of arbitrary shape, size, refractive index, and spatial orientation. Equations are obtained for the reflection and transission matrices of a vertically inhomogeneous atmosphere. The nonlinear integral equation for the reflection matrix of the polarized light from a homogeneous semiinfinite atmosphere is also derived.
