A method is proposed for determining the configurational characteristics of oblate ellipsoidal interplanetary magnetic clouds generated by solar flares based on direct magnetic-field measurements from a set of spacecraft. The method was implemented with reference to interplanetary disturbances observed during January-February 1986 from Vega 1 and 2. Determinations were made of the apex coordinates, the angles of inclination to the plane of the heliographic meridian, the semimajor axes, and the positions of the effective centers of the clouds.
