Evidence is presented in favor of the hypothesis that episodes of glaciation are caused by passage of the sun through regions of given, diametrically-opposite galactic flexure as it orbits in the Milky Way. This hypothesis is suggested by the periodicity of earth glaciation (every 155 million years), which correlates with half the sun's period of galactic orbit (152 million years).
