The authors present the first results that have been obtained in an extension of the Southern Sky Redshift Survey down to a fainter magnitude limit in a declination strip 10 degrees wide. The structures observed in quasi three-dimensional projections can be described as sponge-like where planar structures and empty regions interconnect. The largest voids extend up to 40h-1Mpc.
