Optical processors with scanning CCD photodetectors are examined with emphasis on the use of such processors in various kinds of systems for the processing of radio signals. In particular, results are presented for an optical processor with a reference mask designed for producing mutually correlating functions of a video signal and a library of reference signals recorded on the mask. It is shown that such a correlator is a high-efficiency optical processor with vector-matrix multiplication. Also, an acoustooptic device for the processing of pulsar signals is described in which pulsar signal compression is achieved through the use of a scanning CCD photodetector.
