This report, for 1945, covers the staff, observing conditions, solar research, lunar and planetary investigations (co-albedo of the moon, Pluto and Jupiter's ninth satellite), stellar investigations (parallaxes and proper motions, color phototometry and standard magnitudes, photoelectric photometry, visual magnitudes of double stars, visual magnitude of Nova Puppis, visual magnitude of Alpha Orionis), stellar spectroscopy projects (Taurus cluster, dwarf stars, radial velocities of Rigel and Alpha Orionis, variable stars, B-type stars, CN Bands in N- and R-type stars, peculiar stars and novae, interstellar lines), galactic nebulae and novae studies (photography, planetary nebula spectra, Cepheids in the Cygnus Cloud, shell of Nova Herculis), extragalactic nebulae (observations, Cepheids in the Sextans System, nebular velocities), laboratory investigations (night sky radiation, CN violet and red bands), maintenance and operation, the library, and published papers.
