CONTINUING observations of the times of arrival of the radio pulses from the pulsars visible from Jodrell Bank indicate that almost all periodicities are increasing at a uniform rate. No second order effect of the sort now observed in NP 0532 (ref. 1) can yet be discerned, and certainly none of the thirteen pulsars already analysed show any anomalous behaviour similar to PSR 0833 (refs. 2 and 3). The techniques used for detecting this variability of pulsar periods have been described in a previous paper4.
