The cosmic ray-generated He-3/Ne-21 ratio in ultramafic rocks based on 16 individual analyses is 3.5 +/- 0.1. The good agreement between samples from the Darinanga lava field and samples from Reunion Island, as well as the present noble-gas mass spectrometer determinations of He and Ne sensitivities, inspire confidence in this isotope-ratio value. An Ne-21(c) production rate of 1.06 x 10 exp -18 cu cm (STP) at Hawaii sea level is inferred.
