A model of a long aseismically creeping vertical strike-slip fault buried in a visco-elastic lithosphere is considered. It is assumed that tectonic forces in the lithosphere maintain a steady shear stress far away from the fault, while the stresses near the fault may change due to fault creep. Exact solutions are found for the displacements and stresses in the system. The mathematical results are compared with surface deformations near strike-slip faults.
