The solution of the two-body problem in a noninertial reference system is shown to be fundamentally related to the classical solution of the basic problem of the mechanical theory of comet forms. An exact solution of the equations of motion of a dust particle in a cometocentric coordinate system is obtained for a dust source of finite size, ejecting particles in arbitrary directions at arbitrary velocities. In addition, recommendations for using the Finson-Probstein (1968) method in the case of asymmetric sources of dust particles are given.
