The parameters of the theory of the horizontal meridian axial circle are determined. It is shown that the theory may be represented by the theory of "symmetrical" meridian circle in imaginary space. The latter has the same meridian plane, azimuth and inclination of horizontal axis and three instrumental parameters - collimation, flexure and zenith point. Collimation and flexure contain three additional parameters that define the diagonal mirror position in the instrumental coordinate system.
