A subset of visual binaries containing a white dwarf (WD) and a main-sequence (MS) star observed with the multichannel spectrophotometer is examined. The color-luminosity relation, magnitude, normal behavior, orbital separation, and mass loss of the WD and MS are described. The effects of proximity to a red giant or supergiant on the MS stars are investigated. The properties of pairs with two degenerated stars and visually unresolvable WD-MS pairs with composite spectra and distorted energy distributions are studied. The relationship between the luminosity and temperature in the composite spectra is analyzed. Methods for discovering missing pairs among yellow or red proper-motion stars with composite spectra are discussed.
