It is argued that Simple Global Circulation Models (SGCM) provide an efficient and effective tool for investigating the possible range of atmospheric circulations that might exist on Titan. Initial results of applying this SGCM to the Titan atmosphere show an overturning Hadley circulation which drives a jet in high winter latitudes. This jet is barotropically unstable. There is evidence that the unstable eddies are building up an equatorial superrotation. The implications for the steadiness of the Titan circulation are discussed.
